Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong background in medical-surgical telemetry nursing - Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively within a team - Solid written and oral communication skills - Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels - Experience reading telemetry strips Description: This position involves providing care to patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry environment. The patient population may include those with general medical conditions such as diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory problems, renal disorders, and wounds. Candidates should be proficient in performing chest tube insertions, tracheostomy care, intravenous starts, and managing patient-controlled analgesia pumps. Knowledge of medications such as Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, and Heparin is required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 5-6:1, with support staff available including certified nursing assistants. The facility offers continuous telemetry monitoring and rapid response teams for immediate patient care needs. This environment promotes patient-centered care with an emphasis on strong teamwork and reliability. Nurses will utilize electronic medical records and specialized equipment to provide quality care.
