Project Specialist (Data Center)

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Security Systems Technician to support the installation, programming, testing, start-up, certification, and customer training of security and low-voltage systems. This role involves working on projects ranging from small-scale installations to complex enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with customers, and contributing to a growing team environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, program, troubleshoot, and commission security, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.Perform system start-up, testing, and certification to ensure projects meet customer and industry standards.Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to complete installations accurately.Train customers on system operation and provide exceptional service throughout project completion.Travel to customer sites as needed and support projects of varying size and complexity.QualificationsExperience with security systems, fire alarm systems, low-voltage installation, or related construction environments.Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and mechanical systems.Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.Familiarity with system programming, testing, and commissioning.Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Willingness to travel locally with occasional overnight travel.PreferredExperience in construction, security systems installation, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, or low-voltage technologies.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.Experience Level: Intermediate (2+ years preferred)Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Urbandale, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
