Job Posting Title Post-Award Grants Administrator - School of Nursing Hiring Department School of Nursing Position Open To All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours 40 FLSA Status Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date Immediately Position Duration Expected to Continue Location UT MAIN CAMPUS Job Details General Notes The School of Nursing is seeking a customer service-oriented post-award grants administrator to oversee and manage the school’s portfolio of grant funding. Responsibilities Produce budget projections for and distribute financial reports to Principal Investigators (PIs); provide support and guidance in reading and interpreting Statements of Accounts Provide fully informed recommendations to faculty to ensure all funds are allocated in accordance with sponsor guidelines Monitor account balances to ensure that grant accounts are in good standing; identify and promptly address deficits by processing account transfers Support faculty during annual sponsor review process; provide expert guidance on technical and financial reporting requirements Collaborate with School of Nursing colleagues to process research-funded costing allocation changes in Workday; interact with other UT Austin departments such as the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) and the Vice President for Research to resolve complex grant issues Process transactions accurately and in a timely manner using internal university systems such as *DEFINE, Cognos, and FRMS, and external systems such as Research Management Systems (RMS), eRA Commons, FastLane, ORCID, NIH Commons, Cayuse, SciENcv, etc. Troubleshoot and provide support to faculty when they encounter systems issues Other duties as assigned in support of the School of Nursing Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social sciences, or technical/scientific field Experience in preparing, processing, and negotiating federal grants and contract proposals and awards Demonstrated excellence in providing support for a diverse range of internal and external customers High degree of accuracy in all work processes Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Clear, polished, and professional written and verbal communication skills Ability to research, analyze and synthesize financial and budgetary information and take appropriate actions as needed without immediate supervision Adherence to all laws, regulations, policies and procedures governing the administration and allocation of grant funds Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications RACC Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) More than 5 years of experience administering grants, contracts, and/or awards in an academic setting Salary $85,000 Working Conditions Typical office environment Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during busy periods Required Materials Resume/CV 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor Letter of interest Employment Eligibility Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
