Schedule: Outpatient clinic setting with standard ambulatory care hours

Highlights:

Requirements:

• Active, unrestricted Alaska Registered Nurse license required at time of submission
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Case Management certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of case management experience in a clinical setting within the last 2 years
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Candidates are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely per provider orders
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
• Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and follow-up needs

Nursing Judgment & Clinical Decision-Making

• Apply critical thinking and professional judgment aligned with Alaska Board of Nursing scope of practice
• Exercise independent nursing judgment to determine appropriate interventions and priorities
• Identify when consultation, collaboration, or escalation to providers is required
• Accept accountability for nursing decisions and patient care outcomes

Care Coordination & Documentation

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Facilitate referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Advocate for patients and assist in navigating the healthcare system

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Practice within nursing scope and adhere to regulatory and safety requirements
• Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives
• Maintain required competencies and certifications
• Report adverse events and unsafe conditions per policy
