Laboratory Technician I (Bioassays Services)

Job Summary We are seeing a Laboratory Technician I to work in our Bioassay Services department at our Wilmington, Massachusetts location. The Laboratory Technician will prepare various immunoassay reagents and complete quality control (QC) testing, as specified in SOPs. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Under direct supervision, perform laboratory activities including but not limited to reagent preparation, laboratory maintenance/monitoring, routine testing of client samples, and generation of routine and R&D batch records in compliance with departmental SOPs Immunoassay methods

IFA MFIA Western Blot AAV Reconcile customer paperwork with submission documentation to ensure accuracy Prepare various laboratory reagents including buffers, cell culture media and reagents for Immunoassays Perform routine cell culture for mammalian and insect cell lines Analyze data and create reports of quality control (QC) testing procedures Maintain complete, detailed, accurate and timely reports/records Update and maintain reagent and chemical inventory for the laboratory in specified databases Share responsibility for maintaining appropriate levels of department testing reagents for internal and external clients Ability to work in a structured and regulated environment Work productively in group situations as well as independently Assist in reporting departmental exceptions to the manager or designee as instructed Share responsibility for departmental housekeeping and adherence to established safety procedures Responsible for proficiency in all related department SOP’s, with general knowledge of the laboratory processes Maintain skills in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, LIMS, time‑keeping software, instrument software, analytical software and others as the need arises Maintain up to date training records on all procedures and protocols applicable to work duties Adhere to all departmental SOPs, policies, and protocols Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of employer‑provided Powered Air‑Purifying Respirator (PAPR) equipment when required for specific tasks or environments Remain organized in a fast‑paced environment Perform all other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following are minimum requirements related to the Laboratory Technician I role. Candidates Must Possess One Of The Following Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in biological sciences or related discipline & 0 to 2 years related technical experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Contract Research Organization laboratory environment. Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.) or equivalent in biological sciences or related discipline & 2 to 4 years related technical experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Contract Research Organization laboratory environment. High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) & 5+ years experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Contract Research Organization laboratory environment. Strong organization and prioritization skills. An attention to detail and accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a small group or one‑on‑one setting. Proficient in Computers (IE: MS Office Suite). Preferred Qualifications Experience in immunoassays and cell culture along with knowledge of basic immunoassay methods and ability to operate typical laboratory equipment (specifically pipettes, spectrophotometer, centrifuges, microscopes and other laboratory equipment) Proficient in the following systems: MS Access; LIMS and SoftMax Pro Software. The pay range for this position is $22.00-$23.50 / hour.
