This role focuses on assembling and winding transformers using both manual and automated equipment in a clean production environment. You will build electro-mechanical components according to detailed specifications, ensure high-quality standards, and contribute to overall production goals as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Perform transformer winding using manual and automated winding equipment according to work instructions and specifications.
• Assemble electro-mechanical components accurately following blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and written instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical/mechanical schematics to complete assemblies correctly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect completed assemblies to verify they meet quality standards, proper tolerances, and functional requirements.
• Perform soldering, crimping, and wiring tasks on electrical assemblies, circuit boards, and harnesses as needed.
• Work with small components and perform repetitive tasks with a high level of precision and consistency.
• Maintain organization of materials, tools, and workstations to support efficient workflow and inventory control.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality guidelines, and standard operating procedures at all times.
• Support production goals by working at a steady pace and coordinating with team members and supervisors.
• Document work as required and communicate any issues or defects to the appropriate personnel.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to assist others.

Essential Skills

• Experience with transformer winding, electrical wiring, or coil winding in a production or manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical/mechanical schematics.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience with electrical and electronic assembly, including wiring, harness assembly, and circuit board work.
• Ability to perform soldering and crimping on electrical components and assemblies.
• Mechanical assembly skills, including blueprint reading and working with mechanical components.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision on small components and repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working in a production or industrial environment and maintaining a steady work pace.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and commitment to following safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in transformer winding, assembly, or manufacturing is preferred but not strictly required.
• Experience in electronics, electrical assembly, or mechanical assembly is highly beneficial.
• Experience working with microscopes or magnification tools for detailed assembly work is a plus.
• General labor experience in a production setting can be an advantage.
• Comfort using schematics and technical documentation to troubleshoot or verify assembly steps.
• The person should be mechanically inclined and comfortable working with various tools and equipment.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean production environment at a steady, consistent pace, focusing on quality and precision. The role is on a 2nd shift schedule, typically from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The position involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, winding machines, and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. You will frequently handle small components and perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. The dress code includes long pants such as jeans or khakis, paired with appropriate work-appropriate attire suitable for a manufacturing setting. Safety and adherence to established procedures are central to the daily work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
