Overview The Engineer Design contractor position for client Gas assists in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. The right candidate must be a self-starter, excellent communicator, critical thinker and able to make sound decisions. Natural Gas is an essential part of America’s Energy mix and a trusted energy source for more than 70 million homes and businesses. This position is an exciting opportunity for persons who enjoy the challenges of supporting the construction of natural gas facilities. Responsibilities As our Engineer in the design group, a typical day might include: Working on gas storage or gas fueling station assignments Performing assignments involving the design of components or functionality of pipeline products Involved in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components involving maintenance of mechanical equipment. Performing system balances to determine the best overall solution to solve system issues or identify system low points and methods to best solve them. You have excellent oral and written communication skills You can work across a matrix organization structure with horizontal and vertical teams Qualifications BA/BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or General) 1-3 years of progressive Engineering experience Or Equivalent academic education and experience Certifications/Licenses Preferred : Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Skills Required: Project Management Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization Computer Assisted Design/Geographic Information System - basic proficiency MS Office - advanced proficiency CAD/GIS - intermediate proficiency.
