Robot Technician - 3rd Shift

Career Area Operations Job Purpose The Robot Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Fanuc robots, automated assembly tooling, Automated Guided Carts (AGCs) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) used in various production areas. This role requires a strong understanding of Fanuc robots, basic understanding of mechatronics including programming, troubleshooting, and repairs. The Robot Technician will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Production team and third-party technicians to ensure smooth operation of the Fanuc robots, AGCs and AGVs to minimize downtime. Shift 3rd Shift Schedule: Monday – Thursday 7:30 PM – 5:30 AM, Overtime as business needs require 3rd Shift Starting Pay: $29.38/hour As a Robot Technician At Caterpillar, You Will Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with robotic systems, automated assembly tooling, AGVs and AGCs including mechanical, electrical, and programming problems and work with manufacturers to resolve these issues. Programming: Write, modify, and debug Fanuc robot programs to meet production requirements and improve efficiency. Repairs: Work with the maintenance team to conduct repairs on Fanuc robots as needed, including replacing parts and components. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications. Collaboration: Work closely with MEs and Production staff to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Training: Provide basic operation/troubleshoot training to line technicians, Planners and MEs. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive operations. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Basic Requirements Problem‑Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions. Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and explain technical concepts. Detail‑Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail when performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation. Proficient computer skill with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to function as part of a team, willing to be multi‑trained and maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area. Top Candidates Will Also Have Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude with a focus on robotics, automation, and mechatronics. 1 year of Fanuc robot programming and operation. AGV programming and experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Additional Information Resumes are highly encouraged.
