Registered Nurse Oncology

Job Summary:

The Chemotherapy Nurse provides specialized clinical care to oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy. This role involves collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure safe, effective treatment and compassionate patient support.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy medications accurately according to physician prescriptions.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patients clinical conditions closely, promptly reporting any adverse reactions or changes.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care activities thoroughly in the computerized Plan of Care and adhere to institutional policies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and revise care plans.
  
  
• 
  Support performance improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing oncology education.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Oregon.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of one year of acute or medical-surgical nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  BLS certification and ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card required.
  
  
• 
  Preferred: Oncology Nursing Certification or willingness to obtain within three years.
  
  
• 
  Strong communication, critical thinking, and compassionate patient care skills.
  
  
• 
  Ability to manage complex clinical situations efficiently and independently.
