The primary responsibilities for this role focus on invoicing, analyzing, and reporting project financial status. The ideal candidate must be able to interact with co-workers and customers at all levels and thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. The Project Accountant must maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Work is performed under the supervision of the Project Director.Your Impact on Career Team's Success:Ensure that procedures and policies are in place to facilitate effective and efficient financial reporting and ensure compliance with Federal, local, State, and corporate policiesDirect fiscal operations relating to financial planning, funds management, accounting, and reportingPrepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirementsWork closely with senior company leadership, the Project Director, staff, and the Workforce Board to provide financial insight and reporting on the performance of assigned projectsEnsure that the project fulfills all financial obligations in a timely and economic manner in accordance with established policies, budgets, and funding guidelinesCoordinate accounting activities for assigned projects, including the establishment and monitoring of procedures and policies by contractProcess employee expenses, participant expenses, vendor invoices, and program payroll analyticsPrepare monthly project advance requests, invoices, and supporting documentation, and work with Workforce Boards on any inquiries to ensure timely paymentPerform month-end closing activities, including Balance Sheet reconciliationsPerform financial reporting, including budgets, forecasts, and associated comparisonsSupport annual audit deliverables and manage periodic program audit requestsApproach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindsetOther duties and projects as neededTo Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business, finance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience with 5+ years of accounting experience (preferred)Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the ability to reconcile balance sheets and profit/loss reports, and the ability to implement financial management policies and proceduresExperience with budgeting and forecasting across multiple funding streams and communicating the contract's financial positionAdvanced computer skills in MS Excel and accounting software, with QuickBooks, Adaptive, Workday, and Expensify experience a plusAbility to work in a dynamic team environment with excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work across all levels of management and staffDetail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, research, and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet accounting month-end deadlines, be proactive, and work independently and in a virtual team environmentMust possess integrity and be able to maintain confidentialityAdditional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role:Master's or MBA degreeBilingual or multilingualTraining in Trauma Informed Care, evidence-based practice, and/or whole family servicesSalary: $45,000 - $49,000/ yrTravel: As NeededAbout Career Team: Founded in 1996, Career Team, LLC is a private workforce development organization.Career Team's outstanding record of accelerating the human condition has resulted in numerous honors:Named by Inc.
