Job Description

This Clinical Research Coordinator role supports a balance impairment clinical trial at a research site in the Bronx, NY area. You will identify and recruit eligible participants, educate them about the study, and help ensure they remain engaged and compliant throughout the trial. The position requires strong clinical research experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate confidently with both participants and research staff while maintaining strict adherence to study protocols and regulatory requirements. This is a part-time opportunity approximately 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed chart reviews to evaluate potential participants against study inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Pre-screen potential participants to determine eligibility for the balance impairment clinical trial.
• Educate patients about the clinical trial, including its purpose, procedures, potential risks, and benefits, in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Schedule patient appointments for in-person study visits and ensure participants receive timely reminders and instructions.
• Coordinate and track patient recruitment activities to meet enrollment targets within required timelines.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and site policies.
• Collaborate closely with investigators, clinical staff, and other research team members to support smooth study operations.
• Support participants throughout the trial to encourage adherence to visit schedules and study requirements.
• Use electronic medical records (EMR) systems to identify potential participants and document relevant clinical information.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality by following all HIPAA and site-specific guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience working as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
• At least 2 years of experience in patient recruitment for clinical trials.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Hands-on experience conducting chart reviews against study criteria.
• Demonstrated ability to pre-screen and assess potential participants for clinical trials.
• Strong communication skills to confidently educate and engage patients about clinical research.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple participants, schedules, and study tasks.
• Training in HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
• Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and adherence to clinical research guidelines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data handling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with patient recruitment strategies in outpatient or community-based settings.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations and encourage study participation.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced research environment with shifting priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate issues appropriately to the research team.
• Proficiency with basic office software and tools used in clinical research settings.

Work Environment

This role is based at a clinical research site in the Bronx, NY area and operates during normal business hours. The environment is fast paced and requires a high level of attention to detail, particularly when reviewing charts, pre-screening participants, and managing visit schedules. You will work closely with investigators, clinical staff, and other research professionals in a collaborative setting that focuses on delivering high-quality clinical trial operations. The position involves regular use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office and clinical equipment. Dress expectations align with a professional clinical and research setting.

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
