Position Overview: Location: Richmond, VA Facility: Henrico Doctors Hospital, a premier healthcare provider with a 40-bed Level III NICU and a dedicated single-family room model that promotes family involvement and comfort. Employment Type: Permanent Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive, high-quality neonatal intensive care to critically ill newborns within the Level III NICU. Provide continuous, in-house coverage 24/7 alongside a dedicated team of Neonatologists, ensuring seamless and timely patient care. Utilize advanced neonatal therapies, including High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV), High-Frequency Jet Ventilation (HFJV), inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic hypothermia, to optimize clinical outcomes. Collaborate with on-site pediatric surgery and cardiology teams to coordinate comprehensive and multidisciplinary care plans. Work closely with a nurse-led neonatal transport team to facilitate patient transfers and manage emergency situations efficiently. Engage in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and clinical research activities supported by Pediatrix Medical Group. Focus exclusively on NICU patients; this role does not include nursery or general obstetric duties. Qualifications: MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or eligible for licensure. Demonstrated expertise in neonatal intensive care, including experience with advanced therapies and procedures. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care.
