Associate Attorney

Associate Attorney – Landlord‑Tenant (New York) Salary: Up to $200,000 , commensurate with experience 401(k) plan Health insurance Paid time off We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team, with a focus exclusively on landlord‑tenant matters. This position involves representing landlords and property management companies in the Bronx and Westchester, handling a high-volume caseload in Housing Court. Key Responsibilities Represent landlords and management companies in Housing Court proceedings across Bronx and Westchester counties Handle all aspects of landlord‑tenant litigation, including: Holdover cases Department of Housing Preservation and Development (DHPD) proceedings Section 8 matters Rent‑stabilized and rent‑controlled cases Cases involving squatters Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, stipulations, and discovery materials Appear regularly in Housing Court for hearings, conferences, and trials Conduct legal research and develop case strategies Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients Work closely with General Counsel on litigation strategy and case management Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Admission to the New York State Bar (or pending admission) 0–5 years of experience preferred, particularly in landlord‑tenant or housing law Strong legal writing and drafting skills Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation abilities Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast‑paced environment Prior legal or legal administrative experience is a plus Full‑time, in‑office position Location: 1133 Westchester Avenue, Suite N222, White Plains, NY 10605 Regular travel to Housing Courts in the Bronx and Westchester required #J-18808-Ljbffr Bernard Nickels & Associates
