Certified Athletic Trainer

North Central Texas College is accepting applications for: Athletic Trainer – Gainesville Campus. Salary: $56,999. Full-Time. Full Benefits Eligible. Summary The purpose of the athletic trainer position is to assist the college administration, athletic director, and athletic staff in the daily preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of the student athlete’s health and wellbeing (roughly 120 student athletes). In addition, the athletic trainer will follow the policies and guidelines of the academic institution and the governing body of the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association). Responsibilities and Duties Budget preparation/Management Athletic Inventory control management Recruiting of student trainers Attend team practice/competitions to ensure safety of all student athletes Oversee athletic insurance requirements Facility and equipment maintenance Safety monitoring of facilities and student athletes Manage student athlete physical requirements and ensure proper protocol is followed Update athletic department handbook as needed Act as Athletics Health Care Administrator following NJCAA protocols Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or the College Chancellor Other duties as assigned; responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution Subject to a criminal background check. Travel between campuses and off‑site locations can be expected as needed. Attendance to athletic events outside of normal business hours may be expected. Submit Application Here Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or related field Master’s degree preferred Required Certificates LAT - Licensed Athletic Trainer required ATC - Athletic Trainer Certification required CPR/AED certifications strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months Required Experience One to two (1-2) years of Athletic Trainer Experience (High School Level Minimum) covering multiple sports One to two years of experience with sports medicine specialties preferred Collegiate trainer experience preferred Required Skills & Abilities Coordinate team schedules and practice times Coordinate injury updates with staff Compile data/reports within Rank One Identify injuries properly Administer techniques for injuries properly Concussion knowledge CPR knowledge AED knowledge Identify/treat heat illness Time management skills for multiple sports practices/competition/treatments North Central Texas College (“NCTC”) is an equal opportunity employer.
