GLP Attorneys is seeking a Medical Records Specialist/Senior Medical Records Specialist to join our Burlington office in a full-time, in-office role. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.RequirementsThe Medical Records Specialist/Senior Medical Records Specialist works closely with assigned legal teams to retrieve, organize, and evaluate medical records. Responsibilities include obtaining and managing medical records; entering and maintaining accurate data in case management systems; ensuring the confidentiality and security of medical information in compliance with HIPAA and HITECH requirements; applying RCW guidelines related to the cost and release of medical records and billing; and proactively following up with providers while maintaining clear communication with legal team members.The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and interacts professionally with colleagues and providers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with accurate typing skills of at least 50 words per minute. This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, exceptional attention to detail, sound problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A solid understanding of clerical procedures and records management is essential.A high school diploma or GED is required, and a college degree is preferred. Prior clerical experience is required, while experience working with medical records or in a law firm setting is strongly preferred. Experience in plaintiff personal injury law is a plus. Candidates should possess strong written communication skills, be comfortable communicating with clients and healthcare providers, and be able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a team-oriented environment.Compensation and Benefits: The hourly base pay range for this non-exempt, bonus-eligible position is $24.00 – $27.00 per hour. Compensation is determined using local, national, and industry-specific data and is based on location.
