About the Role: Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm position offering a consistent schedule where you can make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities every single day. Responsibilities: Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and daily routines Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately Transport and accompany clients to community activities, appointments, and vocational programs Encourage skill-building, independence, and community integration Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members Respond to behavioral or medical situations following established protocols Requirements: High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screening CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills Genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities About Us: Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is a trusted provider of support services for individuals with disabilities in the Gaithersburg, MD area, dedicated to promoting independence, dignity, and community inclusion.
