Recruiter Job Summary

Ascend Staffing is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented  Recruiter to join our team in Sterling, VA .

In this role, you'll be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and supporting employees placed at client locations. You'll also assist with daily branch operations, provide excellent customer service, and maintain strong relationships with clients and employees.

The ideal candidate is organized, personable, comfortable using technology, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Recruiter Duties & Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, interview, hire, and onboard qualified candidates for various employment opportunities.
• Conduct new hire orientations and complete required employment paperwork.
• Utilize the company's Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to manage candidate information, employee records, and job placements. Training will be provided.
• Source candidates through job boards, social media platforms, referrals, and other recruiting resources.
• Schedule interviews, coordinate employee placements, and communicate regularly with candidates and clients.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, and assignment status.
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, candidates, and employees.
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager to establish and achieve weekly recruiting and operational goals.
• Provide excellent customer service through phone calls, emails, messaging platforms, and in-person interactions.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all required information is entered into company systems.
• Prioritize daily responsibilities and respond promptly to urgent staffing needs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support client and employee needs outside regular business hours.
• Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance, an essential function of this position.

Required Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and commonly used business applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize recruiting software, applicant tracking systems, and other technology.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional phone, email, and messaging etiquette.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to use social media platforms and online recruiting tools to identify and engage potential candidates.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Ability to meet applicable background screening and drug testing requirements, consistent with federal, state, and local laws.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, or a related field.
• Experience sourcing candidates through social media platforms, job boards, or other recruiting tools.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or other recruiting software.
• Experience with scheduling, calendar management, and coordinating appointments or interviews.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams or similar workplace communication platforms.
• Previous experience with employee coaching, performance management, or HR-related responsibilities.
• Experience providing customer service in a fast-paced office or professional environment.
