Full Stack Engineer

Upside is hiring for an experienced Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer who can navigate the entire stack, from building new pages on our React dashboard, to setting up new Django backend APIs to power them, and building new LLM powered data analysis agents to deliver insights to our customers. We're looking for someone that is excited to bridge multiple systems, and brings a keen eye for good UX and design to the customer facing systems we build.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer who can navigate the entire stack, from building new pages on our React dashboard, to setting up new Django backend APIs to power them, and building new LLM powered data analysis agents to deliver insights to our customers. We're looking for someone that is excited to bridge multiple systems, and brings a keen eye for good UX and design to the customer facing systems we build.


As part of Upside, you'll join an impact-driven team and be a key driver of our customer-facing dashboard and back-end services. You'll ship new features in the first week, launch significant new workflows for our customers in the first month, and help guide the architecture and best practices for our customer facing tools long term.

What You'll Get To Do

• Build : Develop and ship critical functionality on our core customer dashboard
• Own : Drive the architecture, design, and direction of our customer facing tech stack, establishing long-term patterns
• Learn: How to build data intensive AI applications and apply LLMs in production at scale
• Mentor : Teach others on the team best practices for full stack development, integrated testing, and anything else you're an expert in
• Collaborate : Work closely with the rest of the team to build a range of data intensive functionality, including aggregate reporting systems and LLM powered analysis agents

• You'll work closely with the founders daily, with everyone on the team getting their hands dirty with whatever needs doing to move the company forward

• We really value in person collaboration, so if you're in the SF Bay Area we'll expect to see you in the office most days of the week, and if you're anywhere else we'll want to have you come visit to hang out and work together on a regular basis

About You

We're looking for someone who thrives on challenging problems and can operate independently with good judgment. You're someone who's not only comfortable wearing multiple hats but excels at and enjoys it. Here's what we're looking for:

Required Skills:

• Seniority
• Currently or previously has held a Senior/Staff or equivalent seniority technical role
• Domain Knowledge:
• Extensive background working on data-intensive React frontends
• Proven track record of shipping production-quality features quickly
• Leaning heavily into responsible LLM assisted development
• Bonus :
• Experience with Django and Python

Soft Skills:

• High internal drive, self-motivated, and proactive
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Appetite for understanding business and customer context
• Strong opinions, weakly held - open to feedback and collaboration

$170,000 - $250,000 per year
