Description General Purpose: The primary function of this job is to provide outstanding service to Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union members by promoting and selling credit union services and products to new and existing members and by fully using job-relevant technical skills, maintaining/updating technical skills and seeking to enhance service skills. This position requires the ability to make decisions within established guidelines, the willingness to work within a sales environment, and the ability to be a team player in an organization that values the spirit of teamwork. Fundamental Duties Responsible to maintain the highest standards of Integrity, Personal Responsibility, Sense of Community, and Teamwork by self-example within and outside Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union. Responsible for building member loyalty by meeting and exceeding members' expectations. Responsible to develop and maintain relationships with credit union members by determining member needs and maximizing all opportunities to sell additional credit union products and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deposit and Member Service Functions Process a variety of transactions for members including but not limited to the opening and closing of accounts including personal and business savings and checking accounts, IRA's, Term Share accounts, etc. Responsible for performing stop payments, researching and balancing accounts, and enrolling member for direct deposits and ACH origination. Effectively explain credit union products and services to members. Identify sales opportunities through all loan and deposit sources. Support loan and deposit growth by working call campaigns that identify pre-qualified members for loan and deposit opportunities as well as uncovering future loan and deposit product needs. Seek to achieve sales of products and services that are beneficial to both the member and the credit union in accordance with sales expectations and goals. Communicates with members on account usage, account balance and balancing information, inquiries, copy requests, change of address, and similar account usage and administers the appropriate procedures to process the items. Opens and closes safe deposit boxes, takes members to their boxes and directs them to the reviewing room, reviews safe deposit procedures for new members, keeps a log of rented and non rented boxes and insures all keys to non-rented boxes are secure. Loan Functions Interview applicants to obtain credit information necessary to establish a credit decision, determine the best loan product for the member, sell additional loan products, credit insurance and other services, such as direct deposit, and close loans under set policies, procedures and compliance. Enter the loan application while determining member's creditworthiness and helping the member make the best choices for their situation. Aggregate credit information received from the credit bureau to assist in the review process. Forward to a Lending Specialist for review. Responsible for processing the application, note, disbursement and all required paperwork in accordance with the credit union loan policies and procedures. Follow proper branch procedures to ensure all liens are recorded properly. Other Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for knowing all aspects of the credit union's product line and services including rates, terms, and fees. Responsible for conducting or delegating the training of new member service employees in these areas. Researches and prepares reports as requested by management. Responsible for the filing of member information. Duties include initiating the filing process and maintaining records of filing. This may be done electronically. May be responsible for picking up and dropping off mail at the Post Office. Perform other duties as may be assigned by manager. Job Type Full-time Pay $18.45 - $27.69 per hour Expected Hours 40 per week Position Requirements Job Qualifications (Knowledge) Working knowledge of the credit union's products and services. Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy. Working knowledge of safety and security program for alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion. Working knowledge of credit union's in-house computer system. Job Qualifications (Skills) Vision: Ability to complete necessary paperwork and verify signatures and proper completion of documents by members. Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, members and vendors. Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform necessary computer-related input. Physical Mobility: Limited mobility required. Requires the ability to work flexible hours. Job Qualifications (Ability) Ability to assess needs of multiple members and prioritize requests to ensure that all members receive the highest quality service possible. Ability to handle daily routine with moderate freedom to interpret and act upon various situations. Ability to present a professional and personable personality that communicates to members and visitors that the credit union is a professional financial institution. Ability to interact with more than one department daily.Ability to work within precise standardized guidelines with some latitude to make decisions and take initiative to resolve problems or unique circumstances. Ability to possess versatility and flexibility to successfully serve as a back-up to other positions as required. Ability to possess the creativity and resourcefulness required to successfully complete assigned duties without constant supervision. Ability to understand and follow moderately complex written and oral instructions. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to handle moderate financial record keeping requirements to keep personal work updated and accurate. Ability to accept limited responsibility for funds/records. It is basically a desk assignment. The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations.
