Join the rehabilitation team at Hilo Benioff Medical Center and help patients regain mobility, independence, and quality of life across acute care and skilled nursing environments. As a Physical Therapist III , you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services for individuals of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient goals.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, re-evaluations, and document treatment progress in accordance with regulatory and departmental standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, support discharge planning, and optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, pain management, and safe mobility techniques.
• Supervise and provide guidance to Physical Therapist Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides as assigned while promoting quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in departmental initiatives, continuing education, and hospital-wide programs to maintain clinical excellence and high standards of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Hawaii is required at the time of appointment.
• No prior physical therapy experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within one (1) month of appointment.

Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
