We are BUILT FOR THE WILD.The Senior Data Engineer will be part of a team that designs, builds, and operates YETI’s enterprise data platform with a strong emphasis on Azure Databricks and Google BigQuery. This role is critical to enabling modern analytics, advanced reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. This position offers an extremely rare and unique opportunity to join a highly profitable, fast-growing business.This role requires a blend of skills typically found in the specialized roles of Data Modeler, Data Architecture, Data Analyst, and Administration of Data tools. Additionally, having experience in agile development, and how to balance the need to maintain operations versus the need to build things the right way is an absolute must.Responsibilities:Work with business customers and data analysts to define detailed requirements from broader business challengesTranslate those requirements to logical and physical models that satisfy analytical needsDesign and build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Google Stored Procedures in BigQuery, Databricks, Spark, Airflow/Google Composer and Google DataflowLead development of analytical data models using Databricks and Google BigQueryIntegrate SAP data sources including SAP HANA and S/4HANAOptimize data performance of Google Vertex AI engineering and ML pipelinesPartner with business and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical solutionsEnforce data quality, reliability, and governance best practicesPerform data profiling and analysis to assess data quality patterns, recommend data cleansing rules, conforming data standard rules and matching algorithmsBuild Data pipelines for SAP and non-SAP data sources to load into BigQueryOwn the data infrastructure of our existing Google BigQuery Data warehouse and other related GCP servicesAssist ETL and BI developers with complex query tuning and schema refinementQualifications and Attributes:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplineAt least 8 years of experience in data engineering primarily in Google BigQuery and intermediate skills in Databricks.Expert in writing, analyzing and tuning complex SQL queriesExtensive experience with Python programmingHands-on experience in GCP BigQuery, Google Airflow, Dataflow and Databricks.Must have a good understanding of Dimensional Modeling and ER-ModelingCandidates should demonstrate openness to adopting unfamiliar tools and acquiring proficiency in new programming languages.Strong problem-solving ability and a positive attitudeExperience in extracting data from SAP HANA and Salesforce toolsExperience/Knowledge of SAP Datasphere is a huge plus.Experience with Java and NodeJSTerraform, Docker, and CI/CD experience preferredCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
