Data Scientist Consultant (Utilities)

Salary: $89,000 - 148,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least one year of professional experience applying data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or related quantitative methods to complex business problems.
• Experience with analytical and data management tools such as Python, SQL, R, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, GIS, or comparable technologies.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and developing analytical solutions from concept through implementation.
• Preferred: Experience supporting electric, gas, water, or other energy-sector organizations.
• Preferred: Strong communication and consulting skills, including explaining technical concepts as business insights and recommendations.
• Preferred: Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Preferred: Familiarity with utility functions such as customer programs, distributed energy resources, electrification, asset management, operations, or regulatory planning.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud analytics, data engineering, AI, machine learning, geospatial analytics, or optimization.
• Preferred: Experience creating dashboards, data products, or decision-support applications for business users.
• Preferred: Experience in consulting or other client-facing work.
• Preferred: A masters degree or relevant certifications in analytics, cloud technologies, or data engineering.

• Analyze data and create analytical solutions with tools such as Python, R, Snowflake, SQL, Databricks, Power BI, and GIS to address complex client challenges.
• Work with utility clients and our subject matter experts to define business goals, analytical methods, technical needs, and practical recommendations.
• Design, build, test, and implement data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions that advance clients business objectives.
• Turn business needs into scalable analytical workflows, data products, dashboards, visualizations, and decision-support tools.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, supporting confident, data-informed decisions.

This is a Data Science Consulting role with Guidehouse, supporting utility clients. Travel may be up to 10%, and no clearance is required. The annual salary range is $89,000–$148,000; compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
