Laborer Position

The Laborer is responsible for assisting with installations, alterations, additions and / or repairs of underground raceways, squaring of foundation, help with forming of foundations, pouring and finishing of foundations, control house slabs, miscellaneous foundations and layout of all of the above (consist of spread, drills shafts, etc.). They are responsible for assisting with assigned field installations, alterations, additions, and /or repairs of any type of foundations, buildings and underground raceways. The Laborer performs this work within an established time frame and ensures that this work is done in conformance with quality work standards, project man-hours and in the established company guidelines and with regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to report to assign job site location on time as directed.
• Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
• Proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.
• Accurately organize materials and tools in order to maintain clean and neat work areas.
• Responsible for assisting with assigned field installations, alterations, additions, and /or repairs of any type of foundations, buildings and underground raceways.
• Performs this work within an established time frame and ensures that this work is done in conformance with quality work standards, project man-hours and in the established company guidelines and with regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Must have dependable transportation.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Ability to remain calm in times of heightens emotional situations.
• Must have some knowledge of CPR, ability to perform First Aid and emergency rescue if ever necessary.
• Must work smoothly with others as a member of a team to complete tasks.
• Ability to work 10 hours per day, night shift, 40 hours per week and overtime as required with little or on short notice.
• Clearly understand and comply with Company / Job Safety Requirements (OSHA).
• Ability to add, subtracts, divide and use of formulas accurately.
• Work in restrictive / tight areas. (i.e. switchgear rooms, crawl spaces, utility tunnels, etc.).
• Must be capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment.
• Accurately read labels, job site maps / direction and manuals and written instructions.
• Ability to visualize completed work prior to installation.
• Must have ability and knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.
• Well versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

• 0-5 % of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
• Climbing stairs.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating machinery and/or power tools.
• Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
• Noisy environment.
• Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $16.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
