Posting Summary


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lab Technician in the Center for Immunity and Inflammation within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator or Laboratory Manager the Lab Technician performs research activities. Performs work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Assists in packing, unpacking, storing and classification of lab supplies and specimens.
• May give suitable instructions to Laboratory Assistants, Service Workers and other non-professional workers and monitors the performance of their work.
• Performs standard laboratory procedures involved in making required tests and analyses.
• Assists in preparing culture media, reagents, stains, and stock solutions.
• Assists with experimentation and research activities.
• Assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
