Senior Entertainment Carpenter

The Scenic Art Craftsperson - Entertainment Carpenter is responsible for the production and execution of carpentry and installation projects for the Entertainment Department, including sign installation, event builds, show production, and park development projects. Responsibilities Fabricate and install structural, interior, and thematic projects such as theatrical scenery, property, event kiosks, mazes, and theming support. Provide solution‑based feedback on new projects. Create detailed material, tool, and equipment lists based on documentation and coordination. Assist the Supervisor in sourcing and estimating materials, tools, and equipment. Help develop fabrication timelines. Maintain previously fabricated projects and equipment. Assist with installation, operation, strike, and storage of shows and events. Act as a “business owner” for the team, keeping cost benefit in mind from conception to completion. Pursue personal skill development through training and independent study. Demonstrate a positive attitude and work environment, and perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. Must have a valid driver’s license. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in carpentry, fabrication, and custom wood working. Ability to interpret site plans, elevations, details, and 3D models. Extensive knowledge of fabrication materials and the ability to advise on appropriate selections. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, data, and other service coordination. Ability to work on multiple ongoing projects simultaneously. Demonstrate safe work practices and knowledge of appropriate PPE. Work professionally, responsibly, and courteously in a team environment. Good oral, written, and communication skills. Will work at heights between 6 and 90 feet. Lift, push, and pull in excess of 80 pounds. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Comfortable working in close proximity to animals. Maintain training certification(s) on required equipment (e.g., aerial lifts, forklifts, CNC router). Work varying and rotating shifts, including opening, closing, weekends, extended shifts, and overtime. Basic understanding of safe rigging practices. Desired Qualifications Experience with industrial vehicles such as aerial lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, flatbed trucks, and CDL. Ability to read and interpret theatrical lighting plots, scripts, and concepts. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Comfort operating computers and control systems for design and fabrication.
