Associate – Global Infrastructure Team (Private Equity) As an Associate for Nuveen’s Global Infrastructure team focused on private equity infrastructure investments, you will support the origination of new investments and portfolio management and surveillance activities across the firm’s existing private equity investment portfolios, including direct equity joint ventures, private equity fund commitments, co‑investments, and preferred security investments. Responsibilities Assist in underwriting and oversight of direct equity and equity‑like investments by working with senior deal team members to execute due diligence—including financial modeling, asset‑level due diligence, underwriting, and drafting investment committee materials. Drive portfolio management by responding to internal and external inquiries, preparing board materials and presentations, and assisting business partners with valuation, accounting, legal, and compliance deliverables and other ad‑hoc analyses. Screen, underwrite, and structure limited partnership commitments with external infrastructure fund managers; perform sector analysis, fund‑manager comparisons, track‑record assessment, and attribution analysis to ensure compliance with investment strategy criteria. Source, select, and underwrite co‑investments across all infrastructure subsectors in collaboration with senior team members. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on existing infrastructure portfolio items. Support portfolio activities such as portfolio reviews, market research, risk analysis, rating‑agency reviews, sponsor evaluation, and investment modifications. Research macro and portfolio trends, regulatory policy, and legal frameworks to inform investment goals and portfolio construction. Maintain investment performance databases and files and manage communication with sponsors, investment partners, and banking intermediaries. Support the internal Sales and Product team’s third‑party distribution efforts for Nuveen’s private infrastructure investments. Engage in a multi‑sector infrastructure strategy, including transportation, power, renewable energy, storage, digital infrastructure (e.g., data centers, fiber optic networks, towers, DNS), and social infrastructure (e.g., campus energy, student housing, healthcare). Qualifications 2+ years of institutional investment and/or private equity infrastructure/project finance and valuation experience (3+ years preferred). Strong financial modeling experience in MS Excel and similar software packages. Prior investment experience with infrastructure or energy assets; familiarity with project documents, service agreements, joint‑venture agreements, limited partnership agreements, and financing agreements. Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree or CFA preferred). Broad industry experience in power, transportation, renewable energy, and related sectors. Demonstrated ability to develop and use financial statement analysis and financial modeling. Strong accounting and finance knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team‑oriented, performance‑based environment. Physical Requirements Primarily sedentary work, occasional travel required. Compensation Base Pay Range: £112,000–154,000 per year (subject to variation based on experience, performance, sector, and geography). Additional compensation may include incentive programs tied to performance.
