Associate Director, Procurement - US Commercial & Medical

The Associate Director, Commercial & Medical (US Local Support) is a strategic procurement and business partner responsible for enabling US Commercial and Medical activities through effective supplier management and sourcing execution.

The role operates within global procurement strategies, frameworks, and governance models, ensuring that local execution in the US is fully aligned with global guidelines while addressing market-specific needs. It drives value, compliance, and consistency across Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Services, and Medical Affairs.

Your contribution:

1. Strategic Business Partnering (Aligned to Global Frameworks)

• Act as primary procurement partner for US Commercial and Medical stakeholders
• Translate global category strategies and guidelines into effective local execution
• Provide strategic input to ensure US requirements are reflected in global approaches

Support delivery across:

• Commercial: Marketing, Communications, Events, Market Research & Data
• Market Access & Commercial Services: Pricing, HEOR, external sales force, commercialization strategy
• Medical Affairs: medical information, advisory boards, medical writing and patient engagement

2. Execution of Sourcing Strategies (Global-to-Local)

• Execute sourcing activities in alignment with global category strategies and preferred supplier frameworks
• Lead local RFPs, negotiations, and contracting within defined governance
• Ensure consistent application of global tools, templates, and processes
• Identify and escalate gaps between global strategies and local business needs

3. Supplier Management, Governance & Value Delivery

• Manage the US supplier landscape in alignment with global supplier strategies, preferred vendor models and category objectives
• Apply global procurement policies, governance frameworks, KPIs and performance management standards consistently in local execution
• Ensure compliance with US healthcare requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation aligned with global standards
• Drive supplier consolidation, standardization, innovation and continuous improvement in collaboration with global category teams
• Deliver cost savings and value creation in line with global targets, supported by spend transparency, benchmarks, data and analytics
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, risk mitigation and overall supplier performance

A good match:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• A minimum of 6 years’ experience in Procurement, Commercial or Medical support functions (Life Sciences preferred)
• Strong understanding of US market combined with experience in global operating models
• Proven ability to work in matrix organizations and balance global vs. local priorities

Your benefits and remuneration:

Expected Pay Range: $146,300 / year to $234,100 / year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
