Sr. Lead Civil/Structural Designer

POSITION DETAILS:

• Responsible for completing Civil/Structural Design as assigned
• Modelling and Design of Foundations, and Concrete and Steel Structures.
• Work performed under minimal Supervision. Make independent decisions on procedures used.
• Coordinate with other Disciplines to develop Design Deliverables
• Must be familiar with Terminology and Practices of the industry and must use them accurately in the preparation of Designs and Drawings.
• Accountable for decisions and how they affect the overall project effort.
• Originates functional designs by using information derived from equipment drawings, general design criteria, codes and standards and data supplied by engineers and prepares drawings reflecting those designs.
• Reviews vendor drawings, standard details, codes and standards, field data and information provided by project personnel for developing drawings which show details of equipment, layouts, and features that will be used for fabrication of construction.
• Revises drawings as needed to correct details and reflect actual versus planned project feature locations and dimensions.
• May coordinate and plan work of drafters to complete a project assignment.
• May provide technical guidance to drafters within a specific discipline or functional area.
• Performs calculations, including material quantity take-offs, for design, layout, and detailing of project features.
• Travel to Project Sites required for Walk Downs during Design Phase and Construction Support during Construction Phase.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum High School Diploma
• (5+) years' experience in downstream, onshore EPC environment
• Experience engaging with international office teams and workshare is preferred
• Experience with design of international projects and international code requirements is preferred
• Previous position with lead responsibility
• Experience must include Civil Design in site/land development, earthwork, rails, storm drainage, sewer, etc.
• Experience must include Concrete and Steel Modelling and Design
• Experience utilizing Advanced Steel is required
• Experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D is desired
• Experience utilizing AutoCAD, as well as 3D Design Tools and MS Office Suite
• Must be able to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
• Must be physically able to review project materials, equipment and engage with field personnel
• Schedules may include extended hours
