Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance/Engineering Manager, where you will oversee the capital expense plan, manage project documentation, and support facility operations. You will play a vital role in maintenance management, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and food regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage approved projects, verifying progress and installation, and report status to management.
• Track the Capex plan budget and support facilities by liaising between facilities and external engineers and contractors.
• Provide technical and engineering recommendations for new equipment and technology.
• Maintain project documentation and transmit to the facility upon project completion.
• Project manage CapEx proposals, including process design, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Provide estimates, solicit proposals/quotes, pre-qualify vendors/contractors, and manage approved projects to performance, budget, and schedule.
• Negotiate contracts and terms & conditions.
• Coordinate and direct day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Supervise and direct maintenance staff, including training, development, and performance evaluation.
• Confers with architects, engineers, contractors, and other staff regarding maintenance projects.
• Review utility usage and costs, and monitor energy conservation programs.
• Document departmental activity through SAP and prepare various reports, work orders, and maintenance schedules.
• Approve and supervise all outside service technicians.
• Develop and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and required tools and equipment.
• Manage project teams and the Engineering department.
• Utilize GPS processes to drive zero losses and uphold company culture.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health standards.
• Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Three to five years of related experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong skills in reading, analyzing, and interpreting scientific and technical journals.
• Effective presentation skills to top management and public groups.
• Proficiency in advanced calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory.
• Leadership and knowledge-sharing skills.
• Experience with complex computer operations and software (e.g., Autocad, MS Project).
• Proficient personal computer skills, including email, record keeping, and databases.
• Commitment to safety policies and proactive team efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance management, supervision, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance.
• Mechanical engineering expertise.
• Capability to ensure engineering projects and processes conform to policies and objectives.
• Ability to recommend changes, review progress, and approve cost estimates/proposals.

Work Environment

The role involves a mix of sitting, talking, listening, and using hands and fingers regularly, with frequent standing and walking. Occasionally, reaching, crouching, stooping, and climbing are required. You must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds and work with manual dexterity. The work environment may expose you to moderate noise levels from office equipment or light traffic.

This is a Permanent position based out of Clovis, NM.

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
