Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Licensed Veterinary Technician Position Available

Lyncourt Veterinary Hospital is looking for a licensed veterinary technician. This is a full-time or part-time position with a salary range of $20 to $25 per hour. The schedule is to be determined. We are a high-quality, busy three-doctor, small animal hospital in Syracuse, New York. We are dedicated to active learning, and our veterinary technicians play an integral role in providing excellent medical care to our patients and customer service to our clients.

Our veterinary technicians assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and other medical procedures. They monitor anesthesia and provide attentive patient care before, during, and after procedures. Technicians also perform surgical preparation and assist during surgical procedures, collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing, take high-quality radiographs while following radiation safety protocols, prepare, dispense, and maintain pharmacy medications, monitor hospitalized patients and communicate patient updates to the medical team, maintain complete and accurate medical records, answer client phone calls and provide exceptional customer service, and educate clients on medications, preventive care, and discharge instructions.

We are looking for a veterinary technician with a current license or eligibility for licensure, strong technical and clinical nursing skills, excellent communication and client service abilities, a compassionate, patient-focused approach to veterinary medicine, strong organizational and multitasking skills, a collaborative mindset and positive attitude, and a commitment to continued learning and professional growth.
