Maintenance Superv Hourly

On-site Craft Workers Full-Time Requisition #: MAINT002483 Description Supervises staff and inmates assigned to general maintenance of physical plant; plans, schedules and coordinates maintenance and/or new construction activity Evaluates maintenance needs and determines best method of repair or installation; outlines and directs a preventive maintenance program Assists in preparation of budget estimates; maintains records and conducts correspondence related to work; maintains special security for all tools, equipment, chemicals, etc. which may be used as weapons. Assigns, supervises and evaluates work of employees and inmates; directs inmate apprenticeship training program in occupational areas; submits performance reports on employees and inmates Submits performance reports on employees and inmates; maintains discipline and enforces security measures Performs related duties as required Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED Two years full-time, wage-earning experience in the supervision of employees Knowledge of procedures, methods, and standards for general maintenance and construction Skill to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
