Director of Production

Title: Production Director
Location: Houston, Texas

Our Client is an industry-leading designer of financial institutions, commercial offices, corporate interiors, and retail spaces with active projects across the country, and seeks a Production Direction whose responsibilities will include oversight of project production and quality assurance.

Position Description:
This position is responsible for seamless coordination of production of all projects as well as ensuring excellence and consistency in construction documentation. The successful candidate is able to demonstrate successful coordination of deliverables, scheduling of internal resources and external consultants, quality assurance, and effective interfacing with staff, project team, and clients for numerous, simultaneous projects. This person will have strong interpersonal skills and reflect our Client's commitment to client-centric service. The Production Director is an experienced design professional having a strong background in Project Management, Construction Document preparation, building codes, permitting processes, and the ability to effectively delegate work and ensure follow-through.

General Skills:

• Substantial experience in project management including construction document preparation
• and field observation
• Sufficient knowledge of engineering disciplines to evaluate and coordinate consultant work
• Knowledge of building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
• Attention to detail and problem solving
• Ability to organize and prioritize personal workload and make necessary adjustments in
• meeting deadlines
• Strong communication skills to work with clients, consultants, and internal staff in achieving
• deadlines and quality work

Primary Responsibilities:

• Management of internal and external team members
• Schedule creation and maintenance of multiple simultaneous projects
• Coordination of effort and manpower to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely completion of
• construction documentation
• Quality assurance, including redlining drawings throughout the production process
• Develop technical details

Expectations:

• Responsible for follow-through and accountability
• Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects
• Thorough knowledge of building material specifications & performance
• Extensive experience in architectural detailing with the ability to demonstrate it
• Strong knowledge of AIA Contract Documents and responsibilities of all parties during
• construction
• Happy Clients

Education and/or Experience Prerequisites:

• Bachelor of Architecture degree or higher
• 10 years of experience in corporate, commercial or retail experience in an architectural firm
• 5 years of experience leading teams
• Licensure is not required, but is a plus
