Framing Carpenter

This full-time Framing Carpenter position supports a multi-family construction project consisting of 45 residential units in Westbrook, ME. You will report to the foreman and focus on installing prefabricated panels into an already framed building, using both power and hand tools to help complete a high-quality residential development.

Responsibilities
  • Install prefabricated panels into an already framed multi-family residential building according to project specifications and plans.
  • Use framing techniques to ensure structural integrity, alignment, and proper fit of all panels and components.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently while performing framing and panel installation tasks.
  • Collaborate with the foreman and other carpenters to coordinate work, maintain project timelines, and address any onsite issues.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, measurements, and layouts to complete framing and panel installation accurately.
  • Perform general carpentry tasks related to framing, panel building, and basic finish work as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all site safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Transport, set up, and properly store tools, equipment, and materials required for daily tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Approximately 2+ years of framing experience preferred, particularly in residential or multi-family construction.
  • Proficiency with framing techniques, including layout, measuring, cutting, and securing structural components.
  • Ability to install prefabricated panels accurately in an already framed structure.
  • Skilled in the safe and effective use of power tools such as saws, drills, and nail guns.
  • Skilled in the safe and effective use of hand tools such as hammers, tape measures, levels, and squares.
  • Ability to read and follow basic construction drawings and measurements.
  • Personal tools and tool belt required for daily use on the job.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on multi-family or large residential projects.
  • Panel building and assembly.
  • Exposure to basic finish carpentry tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a crew and take direction from a foreman.
  • Comfort working in changing site conditions and adapting to project needs.

Work Environment

This role is based on an active construction site in Westbrook, ME, working on a multi-family residential building. The position is full-time and onsite, involving regular use of power tools and hand tools, as well as handling prefabricated panels and framing materials. The work environment is physical and hands-on, requiring appropriate jobsite attire and personal protective equipment suitable for a construction setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Portland, ME.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
