Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. This role is perfect for an RN who excels in a dynamic environment and is dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency care to patients of all acuity levels.

Position Details

Location: Honesdale, PA
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (with potential for extension)
Shifts: 12-hour shifts | Days, Nights, or Rotating
Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s) with opportunities for overtime

Responsibilities

Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients.
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for various medical emergencies.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions as per physician orders and protocols.
Monitor patient conditions and promptly respond to changes in clinical status.
Assist with emergency procedures including cardiac emergencies, stroke response, sepsis management, trauma stabilization, and respiratory emergencies.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Accurately document all patient care in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment, and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Active Pennsylvania RN License (or Compact License if applicable)
Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale Certification
TNCC certification preferred
CPI or de-escalation training preferred

Preferred Experience

Experience in a community hospital Emergency Department
Strong IV and critical assessment skills
Experience caring for both pediatric and adult emergency patients
Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
