This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and fast-moving team dedicated to advancing biotechnology and Point-of-Care diagnostics throughcutting-edgeinnovation.As anR&D Associate, you will play a pivotal role in an expanding R&D team, applying yourexpertisein design, testing,and troubleshootingtosupport thedevelopment ofthe next generation of microfluidic consumables for our multimodality in-vitro diagnostic system. You will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple projects with agility, embracing a fail-fast approach to accelerate learning and refinement. Your work will span both R&D labs and the production floor, collaborating across disciplines—including microfluidic and process engineers, assay development scientists, software, electrical, and mechanical engineers—to drive meaningful advancements in diagnostic testing. Team Culture: -Comfortable with failure and quick to learn from it -Takes ownership of work quality -Transparent and data-driven mindset -Adaptable in fast-paced development environments -Proactive about continuous improvement What You Will Do Contribute tothe design and development of complex microfluidic consumables with multiple integrated components, including blisters, heaters, valves, and fluidic networks. Supporttestingto make critical design decisions,assessingtrade-offs, downstream risks, and feasibility tooptimize performance, cost, and manufacturability. Execute Design of Experiments (DOE) anddraftcomprehensive testresultstohelpvalidatefunctional performance, reliability, and scalability. Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks)to develop3D modelingandengineering drawingsforrapid prototyping through 3D printing, CNC machining, lamination, and injection molding. Contribute tofluidic product design, including microfluidics, MEMS, and assay workflows (PCR, electrochemistry, cytometry, immunoassay). Conduct failure analysis and implement design modifications to address performance issues, leveragingdata-driven problem-solving. Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Platform, and Assay Development teams to optimizedesigns for usability and scalability. What You'll Need to Have BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering,Bioengineering, or a related field. Experiencein Design of Experiments (DOE) foroptimizingproduct performance and reliability. ExperienceinSolidWorks, and CAD software for 3D modelingand prototyping,design iteration,manufacturing,and tolerance analysis. Experiencein fluidic product designand testing, with knowledge of fluid dynamics,thermodynamics,microfluidic systems, and MEMS technologies. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment. Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP) for decision-making and test platform development. Experience in wet labhands-onworkflow andtestingwith biological samples. Highly organized and detail‑oriented; applies data‑driven and critical thinking methods to troubleshooting, testing, and failure analysis.
