Certified CHW/CHR Instructor Texas (REMOTE)

Aligned Integrative Medical Institute (AIMI) is a subsidiary of a mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality education and dual‑certification pathways for underserved, under‑resourced, and marginalized communities.

AIMI is launching an innovative dual‑certification training program that integrates Texas CHW/CHR certification with evidence‑based integrative health coaching. The program is designed to support learners, including individuals with disabilities, adults re‑entering the workforce, and vocational rehabilitation clients, on a path to meaningful, sustainable careers.

We are actively seeking a passionate, community‑centered Founding CHW Instructor who will help build this program from the ground up. The instructor will serve as a vital leader in curriculum shaping, program identity, and instructional delivery, and will be permanently associated with the creation and launch of the state‑approved program. After two years of active service, the role also provides eligibility for a non‑profit board seat.

Required Qualifications

• Texas state‑approved qualification pathways
• Certified CHW Instructor (CHWI):
  • Current Texas DSHS CHW Instructor certification OR eligible to apply based on experience.
• CHW Experience Pathway:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a certified Community Health Worker in Texas.
• Professional Experience Pathway:
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in
    • Community health
    • Public health
    • Health education
• Educational Pathway:
  • A degree in public health, social work, nursing, health sciences, human services, health education, or a related field AND
  • At least 1 year of community‑facing professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching adult learners, coaching, or facilitating training.
• Experience working with marginalized communities, disability populations, or trauma‑informed care.
• Health coaching or integrative health experience (NBHWC‑aligned preferred).
• Experience working in virtual instruction environments, including Zoom and LMS platforms.
• Knowledge of social determinants of health, chronic disease management, and behavior change principles.
• Willingness to work completely remote with your own equipment (i.e. laptop or desktop with functioning cameras).

Compensation & Role Structure

• No pay during the pre‑approval period (approx. 4–6 weeks for Texas DSHS approval).
• Paid once the first cohort enrolls.
• Compensation: $40/hour for online instruction of multiple cohorts, onboarding new cohorts, and maintaining the cohort class calendars.
• Fully remote instructional schedule.
