Team members who join our new Harrisburg location will have a unique opportunity to help establish our presence, build lasting customer relationships, and shape our reputation in one of South Dakota's fastest-growing communities.If you're looking for a career where you can make an impact, grow professionally, and help build First Western Bank's future in Harrisburg, we'd love to have you apply!Commercial Banker OverviewDevelop new commercial loan business for First Western Bank through securing, structuring, and closing loans; maintain and service existing commercial lending portfolio.Conduct sales calls and meet with prospective and existing customers to establish new loan businessRepresent the bank in local community at meetings and events to market the bank's products and servicesAdminister individual loan portfolio including commercial and other assigned loansInterview loan customers to determine lending needsWork with the Small Business Administration and Bank of North Dakota to qualify customers for participation lending programsNegotiate direct lending terms as well as collateral and payment structuresMaintain customer relationships through regular communication and follow up contactMeet with customers to request information for loan applications, including appraisals, credit reports, background checks and other information needed for loan evaluationCompile financial information including income tax records, balance sheets and other data to create loan spreadsAnalyze applicant financial status and conduct collateral evaluations to make lending decisionsApprove credits up to lending authority and prepare those credit requests that exceed lending authority for loan committee and/or Board approvalCommercial Banker QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or finance related fieldExperience in bank lending, loan review, compliance or finance is requiredStrong understanding of financial statements and credit standardsKnowledge of business management principles preferredCommercial Banker CompetenciesBuilding Relationships – able to grow and maintain strong long-term customer relationshipsBusiness Judgment – able to identify business relationships and make sound decisions that are in the best interest and long-term success of the bankCommunication – excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey information to diverse audiencesCustomer Focus – able to understand customer needs and promote the value of the bank's products and servicesEmotional Intelligence – can navigate difficult situations with empathy and understanding, fostering positive relationshipsInterpersonal Skills – can communicate and interact with others in a way that promotes mutual respect and trustNegotiation – able to lead negotiations and convert them to mutually beneficial agreements or solutionsPersuasiveness – ability to build strong relationships and trust with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders; fostering collaboration and consensusProblem-Solving – skilled in identifying and resolving complex problems using analytical and critical thinking skillsResilience – able to bounce back from difficult situations and maintain a positive attitude and performanceTeamwork – proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve common goalsTime Management – highly organized and efficient, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesWillingness to Learn – open to new ideas, seeks opportunities to expand knowledge and skills, actively participates in training programs, and seeks feedback to enhance performanceTechnology - skilled in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook), and social media platformsFirst Western Bank & Trust is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
