Position Summary

BCP Systems is seeking an experienced Assembler III to join our production team. This advanced-level assembly position is ideal for someone with strong experience in cable and wire harness manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, crimping, connector installation, and interpreting technical drawings and route sheets .

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, able to work independently, and experienced with the tools and equipment used in cable and electronic manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Build cable, wire harness, and electromechanical assemblies according to drawings, route sheets, customer requirements, and BCP Systems workmanship standards.
• Assemble and attach wires, connectors, sleeving, labels, and hardware.
• Strip, crimp, and prepare wire and other materials as required.
• Operate manual and semi-automatic crimping tools and machines.
• Operate wire cutting and stripping machines, coax stripping machines, label printers, and laser wire cutting machines as assigned.
• Perform heat-shrink applications and install solder sleeves.
• Assemble flat ribbon cables.
• Install and key connectors and backshells.
• Assemble cables using modular plug connectors, including RJ45, RJ11, and RJ12, as well as coax and Quadrax connectors.
• Build full electromechanical assemblies, including boxes and racks.
• Read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, flowcharts, and route sheet instructions.
• Use measuring and torque tools, including tape measures, calipers, torque wrenches, adaptors, and related tools.
• Follow product traceability requirements, including shelf-life controls, FIFO, and date codes.
• Follow ESD material-handling procedures.
• Account for materials and perform labeling and packaging as required.
• Maintain BCP Systems workmanship and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous assembly experience equivalent to Assembler I and Assembler II experience is required.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Proficiency in English.
• Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to new programs.
• Ability to read and understand route sheets.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, and flowcharts.
• Experience using measuring tools, torque tools, and common hand tools.
• Ability to convert between standard and metric measurements.
• Experience with manual and semi-automatic crimping equipment.
• Experience operating wire cutting and stripping equipment.
• Understanding of tool calibration, expiration dates, and tool identification requirements.
• Experience with heat-shrink application techniques.
• Experience assembling cables, connectors, backshells, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Understanding of product traceability requirements.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 or certification in Modules 1–6 is preferred.
• Ability to obtain J-Standard Modules 1 & 2 certification .
• Panasonic EPS training for Panasonic WM assemblies is preferred when applicable.
• Fiber-optic sub-assembly experience is preferred, including cable stripping, contact polishing, loss testing, and inspection.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and walk.
• Be able to work the hours of 5AM - 1:30PM or 6AM - 2:30PM.
• Frequently required to use hands to handle and manipulate objects, tools, and controls.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to hear and verbally communicate.
• Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds .
• Work is generally performed in a moderate-noise manufacturing environment.
