About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred License: Must have a valid state or compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Description: Provide care in a Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Work 3x12 hour shifts during the day. Preferred experience includes 2 or more years in nursing. Travel experience is also preferred. Must be proficient in charting within the Epic system. Patient ratios are typically 1:2. Experience with managing patients who have multisystem organ dysfunction or failure is required. Skills required include blood product administration and care of ventilated patients. Must have experience in the management of central lines and arterial lines. Familiarity with intubation and extubation, as well as management of patients undergoing procedural sedation, is necessary. Providing care to adults and geriatric patients is essential. Daily census in the unit averages 14 patients. The unit is equipped with advanced technologies for critical care. Interdisciplinary support services include respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment is necessary. Flexibility to float based on schedule is expected. Weekend shifts will be required as part of the contract. Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler.
