Inspector - Packing

Description Essential Duties and Tasks To perform this job successfully, *an* individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Safely operate equipment as needed, including but not limited to packaging, wrapping machinery, label equipment, banders, gluer, etc. Accurately read and follow instructions. Inspect material to ensure quality and that customer specifications have been met. Package outgoing materials to meet customer specifications and internal protocols. Move material within facility according to protocol, which may include stacking, weighing, transporting and arranging. Keep work and surrounding areas organized by meeting GMP and SQF practices. Verification and tracking of all materials moved including quantity, size and packaging. Complete all necessary documents for internal or external use. Work with supervision. May be required to work in multiple areas or with multiple teams. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Education, and Experience Skilled Labor. This position has no leadership duties. Exceptional attendance, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Prior equipment, shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience preferred. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and work orders. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure. Work Environment Work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Hearing protection, safety shoes, eye protection, hair and beard nets required. Employee is exposed to non‑toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
