Job Summary Position requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with a Polygraph. The Systems Engineer will support a key customer in McLean, VA by delivering engineering services for network infrastructure and sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end‑point devices, data center hosted servers, multi‑Cloud services, virtualized applications, and storage systems. The role involves modern application technology, containerized solutions, and orchestrated workflows that function on customer premises and in remote Cloud services. Key Responsibilities IT Systems Hosting and M&E Management Optimize IT system hosting while effectively monitoring M&E systems, such as power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH) to ensure operational integrity and performance. Develop and implement performance metrics and monitoring tools to assess the efficiency of IT systems and M&E infrastructure, focusing on key indicators like Power Utilization Effectiveness (PUE) and system uptime. Analyze data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements. Conduct regular data center assessments across all sites to identify deficiencies in power, space, and cooling. Provide actionable recommendations and strategies to enhance overall resiliency. Collaborate with the Facility Manager and Data Center Manager to implement improvements, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and operational standards. Serve as a Technical Advisor to facility and data center leadership, providing insights on M&E and hosting matters, maintenance strategies, system upgrades, and enhancements. Provide expert consultation to special project teams evaluating innovative colocation solutions that may transform the hosting paradigm. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance checklists, to ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., TIA‑942, Uptime Institute) and internal policies. Apply knowledge of ICD‑705 Security Protocols to enforce compliance and security measures across all Data Centers, conduct audits, and collaborate with Security teams to develop ICD‑705 aligned policies. Engage with industry vendors to gather insights on Data Center technologies and procurement opportunities. Provide expert troubleshooting support during operational incidents, leading diagnosis and resolution of complex issues in collaboration with IT Operations teams to maintain system resiliency. Participate in cross‑functional project teams to manage updates, technology implementation, and process improvements impacting IT systems and M&E infrastructure.
