As a Security Guard Ferry Terminal Patrol Officer in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, waiting areas, entry points, waterfront perimeters, and/or other assigned areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, screen for authorized entry, and provide directions and information to the public while following post orders and security-related protocols.
• Assist with crowd management, queue observation, and orderly movement during peak travel periods, service disruptions, and/or special events while reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
