Job Summary
We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Certified Medical Coder to focus on inpatient coding in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will accurately code inpatient medical records, ensure compliance with federal, payer, and facility coding guidelines, and support coding quality and accuracy within the organization.
Job Description
- Assign the principal diagnosis, secondary diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient discharges,
- Ambulatory Surgery and ER visits, utilizing 3M HDM coding system, EPIC Electronic Medical Record.
- Report on Congenital Malformation to the State.
- Analyze the discharged patient’s medical record for completeness and accuracy, to ensure that they are
- following hospital, corporate and outside Government Agencies standards.
- Generate queries for documentation specialist for query follow-up.
- Interact with Clinical Documentation Specialists for query follow up.
- Maintains confidentiality of information from patient’s medical records.
- Performs concurrent and retrospective clinical documentation review and provides data when necessary.
- Works with other departments to ensure that accurate reporting and reimbursement are facilitated.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager / Director.
Skills Required
- Three years’ experience Knowledge of ICD10
- Inpatient and ED experience
- Must have EPIC and 3M experience
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid CCP, CCS is required
Additional Requirements
- Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Pay Rate
- $32–$38 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
