Instructional Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our educational team at Orange County High as a full-time Instructional Assistant. The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and provide assistance to students in their learning processes. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the preparation and implementation of instructional materials and lesson plans.
- Support individual students and small groups in academic activities, reinforcing concepts taught in the classroom.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers on student performance and behavior.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assist with classroom management and discipline, ensuring that students adhere to school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive educational community.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including maintaining student records and preparing reports.
- Assist with the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the needs of students and staff.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and educational software.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Must pass background checks and meet any other state or district requirements for employment in a school setting.
