Job Title Supervisor: Foreman Operate a bulldozer safely to cut ditches, slopes, grades, clear brush, shape, and dress slopes. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Operate bulldozer safely and efficiently Cut ditches, slopes, and grades; clear brush; shape and dress slopes and perform other earthmoving activities Start engines, control throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to operate machines Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials Take actions to avoid hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, equipment, workers, and falling objects Perform maintenance on equipment such as oiling, greasing, and other servicing tasks Troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing Move throughout a construction jobsite, including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds Safety Policies and Practices: The employee must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the safety manual. Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Experience: Three or more years of related construction experience preferred. Physical Activity Level: Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day tasks of a primarily productive/technical nature. Manual Dexterity: Sufficient manual dexterity to reach and handle items with the fingers and to perceive attributes of objects and materials. Working Conditions: Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.). Work Environment: The environment described is representative of the employee’s duties. Exposure to extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious places is common. Noise levels are usually loud.
