We are looking for an experienced trusts and estates attorney to join a respected law firm in Quincy, Massachusetts. This position offers the chance to lead sophisticated estate planning and administration matters while working closely with individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners. The role is well suited for a senior-level practitioner who values meaningful client contact, thoughtful legal strategy, and collaboration across related advisory disciplines.

Responsibilities:
• Design and prepare advanced estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related instruments.
• Guide clients on wealth preservation approaches, transfer planning techniques, and strategies intended to reduce transfer tax exposure and protect assets.
• Create succession plans for privately owned and family-operated businesses, aligning legal structures with long-term ownership and management goals.
• Counsel clients on Massachusetts and federal tax issues affecting estates, gifts, trusts, and fiduciary income matters.
• Oversee estate administration from initial filings through final settlement for both taxable and non-taxable matters.
• Advise trustees and beneficiaries on trust administration, fiduciary obligations, funding issues, compliance requirements, and ongoing communications.
• Support clients with elder law and long-term care planning, including Medicaid-related strategies where appropriate.
• Prepare and evaluate estate and trust accountings to help ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
• Work alongside accountants, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other external partners to coordinate comprehensive client solutions.
• Contribute to practice growth through client relationship development and provide guidance to entry-level attorneys and paralegals when needed.• J.D. from an accredited law school and active admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
• At least 7 years of legal experience centered on estate planning, probate, trust administration, and related trusts and estates matters.
• Strong working knowledge of Massachusetts probate practice and fiduciary administration procedures.
• Demonstrated experience addressing estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax issues.
• Proven ability to draft complex planning documents with precision and sound legal judgment.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills for direct client and advisor interaction.
• Familiarity with business succession planning for closely held companies is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to elder law, long-term care planning, or Medicaid planning is an advantage.
