Executive Director | Silvergate Senior Living | San Marcos San Marcos, CA 92078 | Full Time | $135,000 to $160,000 per year Lead a Community Where Every Day Matters Silvergate San Marcos is looking for a proven senior living leader to take the community into its next chapter of growth. This is a high-visibility role for someone who loves being on the floor with residents and families, knows how to build a strong team, and has a track record of growing census and running a healthy P&L. Silvergate is part of AmeriCare Health & Retirement, Inc., a locally owned San Diego company headquartered in Solana Beach. What You’ll Do Lead all day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of care, service, and safety Be the face of the community for residents, families, staff, and local partners, with a visible, hands-on presence Recruit, develop, and hold accountable a leadership team of 10+ department heads Partner with sales and marketing to drive occupancy, move-ins, and revenue Own the budget: labor, expenses, vendor management, billing, and collections Track census, staffing, and financial performance and act on the numbers Oversee resident care and services for quality, consistency, and satisfaction Resolve resident and family concerns with empathy and sound judgment Ensure full compliance with RCFE licensing, state and local regulations, and company policy Build a positive workplace where team members feel valued, supported, and heard What You Bring 5+ years of progressive leadership in senior living, assisted living, healthcare, or hospitality, with real ownership of operations, financials, people, and resident experience Executive Director experience in a larger senior living community strongly preferred A track record of growing census in a competitive or challenging market, including lead conversion, move-ins, and resident retention Strong financial acumen: budgeting, labor management, expense control, forecasting, and using metrics to make decisions Experience leading 10 or more direct reports and building a high-performing culture Solid knowledge of senior living and residential care compliance, including identifying risk and implementing corrective action A hospitality-driven leadership style and the ability to build relationships with residents, families, physicians, vendors, and community partners Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization Comfort with resident management systems, CRM/sales platforms, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, hospitality, gerontology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Current California RCFE Administrator certification required Why Silvergate Salary of $135,000 to $160,000 + Performance Bonus Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life/AD&D, accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity coverage Health Savings Account 401(k) with a competitive employer match A mission-driven, collaborative culture with local ownership AmeriCare Health & Retirement, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
