Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist - FLOW Cytometry - Mid-Shift

The Clinical Flow Cytometry Laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center plays a critical role in the diagnosis, classification, and monitoring of hematologic malignancies and other complex disorders. This Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist position offers the opportunity to serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert within a sophisticated clinical laboratory environment. In addition to performing complex testing and analysis, you will play an important role in staff development, quality initiatives, validation activities, and the continuous advancement of laboratory operations. In this role, you will perform and interpret complex flow cytometry testing, including specimen processing, staining, acquisition, analysis, and reporting. You will be responsible for accurately evaluating all testing panels, identifying technical issues such as staining or acquisition errors, troubleshooting instrumentation and workflow challenges, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely patient results. Your expertise will help maintain the laboratory's high standards of quality and diagnostic excellence. As a senior member of the team, you will serve as a technical resource and mentor, providing training, competency assessments, and guidance to new employees and laboratory staff. You will contribute to the development of personnel while helping maintain compliance with CAP, CMS, and other regulatory requirements. This role also offers opportunities to participate in validation of new methodologies, implementation of new technologies, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
