ISS Insurance Group is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial insurance professional to take the lead in managing and growing our independent insurance agency in Mattoon, Illinois.

This is more than a traditional insurance agent position. We are looking for someone who wants the opportunity to operate the agency as their own-taking ownership of sales, client relationships, carrier partnerships, day-to-day operations, and the long-term growth of the business.

You will step into an established agency with an existing book of business, carrier relationships, and infrastructure already in place. From there, you will have the opportunity to build upon that foundation, grow the book, develop new relationships, expand our carrier network, and ultimately build a team around you as the agency grows.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to combine the independence and upside of running an agency with the support and resources of an established organization.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the overall growth and day-to-day operation of ISS Insurance Group.
• Develop and execute a strategy to grow the agency's book of business.
• Generate new business through referrals, networking, community involvement, prospecting, and existing relationships.
• Manage and grow relationships with existing personal, commercial, life, and health insurance clients.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and expand existing accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and identify opportunities to add new carrier partnerships.
• Review client insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage solutions.
• Prepare and present competitive insurance options from multiple carriers.
• Oversee renewals, policy changes, coverage reviews, and overall account management.
• Ensure clients receive a high level of responsiveness and customer service.
• Identify opportunities to improve agency processes, technology, marketing, and operations.
• Recruit, develop, and manage additional insurance professionals as the agency grows.
• Maintain accurate client and policy information within the agency management system.
• Stay current on insurance products, underwriting requirements, market conditions, and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Illinois Property & Casualty License required.
• Life & Health License preferred.
• Previous insurance agency, sales, account management, or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Existing insurance industry and carrier relationships are a plus.
• Strong sales and business-development skills.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to take ownership of a business and its results.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Experience with agency management systems and insurance technology preferred.
