Description

As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you'll support Savant's Accounting and Business Advisory Team during the busy tax season by preparing accurate federal and state tax returns for individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary clients. You'll work closely with tax professionals, advisors, and firm leadership to communicate clearly, address client needs, and ensure returns and supporting documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.

You'll use professional tax preparation, document management, and workflow software while continuing to build your tax knowledge and research skills. Strong organization, attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication are essential in this role, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This is a seasonal position for the duration of tax season, with the option to work remotely or from a Savant Accounting & Business Advisory office.

The Seasonal Tax Preparer can expect to focus on the following areas:

• Become familiar with Savant policies and procedures
• Front-line preparation of tax returns (federal and state for individual, corporation, partnership, fiduciary)
• Clear and timely communication with tax staff, advisors and senior level management
• Develop a command of various software used for tax, paperless documents storage and workflow
• Manage client needs and requests; attend client meetings, as needed
• Develop tax research skills

A couple things to note about our Seasonal Tax Preparer position:

• This is a seasonal position supporting Savant's tax season needs from January 2027 through April 30, 2027.
• This is an hourly position.
• This role has the option to work remotely or from a Savant Accounting & Business Advisory office.

Qualifications

The Seasonal Tax Preparer position typically requires the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university, Accounting preferred
• 2+ years of experience in the individual tax preparation experience
• Pursuing or active CPA or EA license preferred
• Experience in reviewing returns preferred

Compensation

We take a market-based approach to compensation. The expected base salary range for this role is $27 - $40 an hour. Actual compensation is determined on an individual basis and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and market conditions.
